Sudoku basics
How to Play Sudoku
Sudoku is a logic puzzle. Fill the grid so every row, every column, and every 3x3 box contains the numbers 1 to 9 exactly once.
Core rule
No row, column, or 3x3 box can repeat a number. You never need maths; you need elimination and attention.
Daily Sudoku Race rules
- Choose a difficulty from Easy to Extreme.
- Use the timer to track your run.
- Use notes for possible numbers before committing an answer.
- A wrong answer adds a 10-second penalty.
- A hint reveals a useful cell and adds a 10-second penalty.
- Pausing covers the board so the race stays fair.
- Your result shows badges for hints, pauses, mistakes, restarts, and clean runs.
Where should beginners start?
Start with Easy. Focus on one number at a time, then scan rows and columns for places where that number can only fit in one cell. Once that feels comfortable, move to Medium and use notes more often.
